The hotel has a charming atmosphere with rooms that are compact but nicely decorated and comfortable. However, the emergency exit light in the room made it hard to get a good night's sleep. While the service staff was hardworking and dedicated, I found the restaurant's limited hours and lack of breakfast options to be a bit disappointing. Overall, I appreciated the convenient location and easy access to Kendal.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms are compact yet perfectly formed, decorated with care and the beds are very comfortable. However, the emergency exit lights created a green glow that made it challenging to fall asleep.
Service
8.0
The service was impressive; I noticed one staff member in particular who showed great commitment to his job, ensuring guests were well taken care of.
Location
9.0
The location was very good, providing easy access to Kendal and surrounded by stunning scenery. It's a great place to stay if you're looking to explore the area.
Dining
5.0
Dining required a separate booking and was paid extra, which was a bit inconvenient. The restaurant's limited operating hours also left me wanting more options throughout my stay.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities were adequate for what I needed, but the lack of a fully open restaurant and breakfast options detracted from the overall experience.

6.8/10

Overall, my stay was quite pleasant, especially with how clean and comfortable the surroundings were. The rooms were uniquely designed but might pose a challenge for larger individuals due to the layout. The location was a lovely area of Kendal, providing a nice atmosphere for exploring the Lake District. Unfortunately, the dining options were limited, as the restaurant closed early during our stay, which was a bit of a letdown.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms had a charming aesthetic being set in a converted barn, but the fitted glass screen made it somewhat awkward for larger individuals to navigate.
Service
6.0
I noticed the service was somewhat lacking at times, as the staff seemed more preoccupied than attentive, especially at the bar area.
Location
9.0
The hotel is nestled in a lovely area close to Kendal, making it an excellent base for exploring the Lake District.
Dining
5.0
Dining was a bit disappointing due to limited options, and I found it frustrating that breakfast wasn't included in the price.
Facilities
7.0
The clubhouse was tastefully decorated and offered some amenities, but not all were available, which detracted from the overall experience.

8.0/10

I had a decent stay overall, as the room was well-furnished and spotlessly clean, making it quite suitable for a short visit. The shower room was a bit tricky due to the fitted glass screen, especially for larger guests, but it was still nice. The staff was friendly and definitely displayed that welcoming northern spirit, while the breakfast was a lovely way to start the day with great views of the surroundings. However, I felt there could be a bit more variety in the dining options and the room could have been slightly larger for comfort.

The breakfast was delicious and substantial, although I did find a bit of eggshell in my dish, and it was just warm, not hot.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, especially because the rooms are spacious and have a massive comfy bed. The shared bathroom was initially a concern, but it turned out to be modern and very clean. The service was friendly, and while the location is ideal for a stopover to Scotland, I wish I could have brought my golf clubs to take advantage of the discounted rates. However, the breakfast options were a bit limited, which was disappointing.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel, mostly thanks to its cozy atmosphere and the convenient location near the clubhouse. The rooms were nice and bright, although a bit cramped with the travel cot we needed. The service throughout my stay was exceptional, which made everything feel more welcoming. However, I found the dining experience didn't quite meet my expectations due to limited breakfast options.
